Facial Care Road Map
Here is a suggested road map, and products, for keeping your skin healthy and fight “Mask-ne” through the challenges:
1. Lighten up your skin-care routine.
In the summer, I generally recommend that a skin-care routine may need to be a little more lightweight. The heat and humidity of summer means you can swap out a heavier cleansers, creams or oils in favor of a gentler options.
2. Add an exfoliation skin-care step.
Dermatologists are often reminding us not to over-exfoliate, but the summertime ’tis the season to slough away. Our cream-based facial scrubs with Jojoba Wax Beads are ideal for removing dirt buildup from your pores, especially the area around your mouth and nose that come from wearing a mask. roseline-jojoba-facial-scrub/ and daily-cleanser-3-3oz-plastic-tube/.
9. Don’t forget to hydrate your skin.
Facial toner may seem like an unnecessary step in your routine, and it’s confusing as hell to find the right formula for your skin, especially when the toners of your childhood were filled with drying, irritating alcohols. But the toners of today are quite literally magical and can do everything from minimizing the appearance of your pores to zapping zits and excess oil, soothing redness and irritation, and even upping your glow. So, if you’re after really good skin, it’s time you work a toner into your routine.
3. Adopt a dual-purpose moisturizer.
To help lighten things up, use a combination moisturizer and sunscreen during the summer. A lightweight moisturizer with SPF of 30 is plenty for most people. Thicker moisturizers can lead to clogged pores, inflammation, and acne. Especially if you have acne-prone or oily skin, our Daily Moisturizer with 30SPF can help keep skin clear.
4. Invest in a solid vitamin C serum.
“Vitamin C is great year-round, but all the more important in the summer as it helps prevent hyperpigmentation, improve the appearance of fine lines, and can help with collagen production. Layer a few drops on your skin between cleansing and moisturizer. We saved the most important, fundamental, don’t-leave-home-without-it tip for last: Wear sunscreen. Experts recommends a broad spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher on all exposed skin. Don’t forget about hands, feet, ears, and lips. “It is also important to note that sunscreen needs to be reapplied every couple of hours, so make sure to pack extra sunscreen for longer summer days outdoors – set an alarm on your phone to remind you to reapply. Enjoy the rest of your summer and keep that fresh face looking forward.
